Bob Parfitt

Managing Director

 

Bob has progressed to Managing Director after joining CMC in 1994 as a Commercial Manager. Prior to this, Bob gained extensive experience whilst working for major civil engineering contractors in the UK and Overseas.

 

In conjunction with his corporate and management responsibilities, Bob leads and undertakes consultancy services across all sectors of the construction industry with a particular emphasis on the preparation and resolution of contractual claims. Bob has had extensive experience in formulating and presenting the documentation for significant Adjudication proceedings.

 

Bob’s primary aim is to ensure that the company continues to provide the very high level of service that our clients rightfully expect and that all staff receive the necessary training and motivation to ensure that this is achieved.

 

 

 

Peter Banathy

Director

 

Peter has over 26 years experience within the industry, nearly 20 of which has been with CMC.

 

Peter is a Member of the RICS and a Fellow of the CIOB and has extensive Main Contracting experience as well as having more recent experience of client side representation.

 

As well as a comprehensive knowledge of traditional fixed price contracts relating to both the Building and Civil Engineering sectors, Peter also has experience of Target Cost, Partnering and Alliancing and PFI/PPP contractual arrangements.

 

Peter’s particular areas of interest and more recent experience revolve around the provision of contractual advice and managing commercial teams post contract on large scale infrastructure schemes specifically in the aviation and rail sectors.

 

 

 

Craig Troup

Director

 

Craig joined CMC in 1997 when he returned from overseas and together with his team has developed the business in Scotland and Northern Ireland .

 

A member of the RICS and a committee member of the ICES Craig is passionate about the profession and the delivery of a first class service to our clients across all CMC’s business sectors.

 

As well as the director responsible for Scotland and Northern Ireland Craig’s corporate responsibilities include health & safety and business development across the business with particular focus on new and emerging markets.

 

 

 

Bruce Dennett

Director

 

Bruce has over 25 years experience in commercial and contractual aspects of the construction industry.

 

Prior to joining CMC in 1996, Bruce spent several years at various levels within major contracting organisations. This included six years associated with overseas works.

 

A member of the RICS and CIOB, Bruce has a broad range of experience on projects which include motorway construction, building development, rail projects, marine works, airfield development and works within the utilities and communications sectors.

 

Bruce also has extensive experience in the preparation, negotiation and settlement of various forms of construction disputes.

 

Corporate responsibilities within CMC include Finance and Administration.

 

 

 

Brendan Robinson

Regional Commercial Manager

 

Brendan has worked in the Construction Industry for over 20 years and has been with CMC for the last 10. Within this period Brendan, has gained extensive experience in the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including working in the rail environment over the last 5 years.

 

As a full member of the RICS, Brendan is not only experienced in general commercial management of construction projects, but also the resolution of contractual issues.

 

Brendan is part of the management team for the Southern Region with particular responsibility for maintaining our ISO 9000 accreditation.

 

 

 

Rob Morgan

Regional Commercial Manager

 

Rob originally joined CMC in 1997, since which time he has spent most of his career representing client organisations within the construction industry.

 

Having started out in the Highways sector in 1989 Rob has since discovered Rail and Underground.

 

A significant proportion of his career was spent on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link as part of the client body, providing his many years of hands on procurement and administration exposure of the NEC suite of contracts.

 

As a senior manager Rob is responsible within the Southern region for identifying and securing new business within the evolving CMC client sector as well as regional management, training and staff welfare.

 

 

 

Steve McCombe

Regional Commercial Manager

 

Steve has worked in construction since 1990 and is an experienced Commercial Manager. During his career, he has been involved within the building, civil engineering and utilities sectors of the industry and has extensive knowledge of the IChemE, FIDIC, ICE, NEC, GC/Works and JCT forms of contract. His portfolio of work includes pipelines, rail, local authority asset maintenance, design & build (civil engineering and building) and several infrastructure term contracts. Steve’s recent work includes preparation, negotiation and successful settlement of various contentious issues.

 

Steve is a member of the CIOB and is committed to helping clients successfully manage all commercial aspects of their projects.

 

 

 

Gary Watkin

Commercial Manager

 

Following 11 years working within the main contracting environment Gary joined CMC in 2001 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has progressed to the position of Commercial Manager for the North West region.

 

Gary has extensive experience in the rail and utilities sectors, and a comprehensive working knowledge of NEC forms of contract. A member of the RICS Gary is dedicated to providing clients with the quality service they have come to expect from CMC.

 

 

 

Graham Jordan

Commercial Manager

 

Graham has been with CMC for 15 years and has 18 years commercial experience within the industry.

 

Graham’s background and experience has been working with the largest Main Contracting companies in the country but has also more recent experience of client side representation.

 

Areas of knowledge and experience include the management of contracts and sub contracts under all the major forms of contract together with extensive experience in reporting and monitoring contract performance.

 

Graham is a Commercial Manager and forms part of the management team based in the Southern Region. His responsibilities also include the management and development of internal and external IT systems and procedures.

 

 

 

Spencer Barrow

Commercial Manager

 

Spencer is a Commercial Manager who has been working for main contractors within the construction industry for the past 20 years and has been involved with the commercial aspects of civils, highways and rail contracts that have ranged from traditional, partnerships and framework contracts. His contractual knowledge is mainly focused on ICE 5 th and 6 th, NEC and Network Rail, TfL and LUL bespoke conditions.

 

His wealth of experience has given him the ability to set commercial systems, analyse and solve problems.

 

Spencer is a Commercial Manager based in the Southern Region his responsibilities include the management of client based teams and consultancy work.

 

 

Andrew Drennan

Commercial Manager

 

Andrew has 10 years experience working in a main contracting environment.  Establishing himself in the rail and civils sector demonstrating both project management and commercial management skills over a diverse portfolio of projects, Andrew has since been involved in the commercial management aspects of the construction and utilities sector.  This range of experience contributes to knowledge of a wide range of traditional and framework contracts including IchemE, NEC and JCT forms of contract.

 

Andrew is a Commercial Manager based in the Scotland Region and is dedicated to ensuring clients are provided with a quality commercial management service along with the corporate responsibility of developing CMC’s Infrastructure business within the region.

 

 

 

Alan McGeagh

Regional Commercial Manager

 

Alan has 35 years experience in the industry equally split amongst private practice, major contractor, and specialist sub-contractor roles, throughout Britain and in the Far East. His areas of experience cover, amongst others, the water industry, semi-conductors, pharmaceuticals, Health Care, Defence, retail and commercial developments, and complex housing. Prior to joining CMC this year, Alan spent years at senior levels with main contractor organisations. Prior to that, he was a consultant for claims and dispute resolution, serving, mainly, the contracting side of the industry. A long standing member of the RICS, Alan has a broad range of experience on many aspects of the Construction Industry and in-depth understanding of how the industry works.
